RFT Modell Apart 2001, or Volkseigenes Betrieb Fernmeldewerk Nordhausen Modell Apart 2001 mit Erdtaste und optischer Ruf.
I got this a few years ago as a gift from a friend, used but with its original box. To my surprise I had never properly photographed it and did not put it on my website.
RFT was an organisation from the former DDR (GDR), combining several East German electronics firms. Part of that was VEB (Volkseigenes Betrieb) Kombinat Nachrichtenelektronik, which held communications firms. And part of that was VEB Fernmeldewerk Nordhausen, where this phone was made. Do you still follow?
Although it has a keyboard, it dials pulse. I could not determine what the *key does. The E button is an earthing button (Erdtaste).
It has a loud chirping electronic ringer with an led indicator.
The handset has a volume control wheel for the receiver.
The box also contained some of its original packaging material and a diagram.
This beauty was made in 1986 and still works properly.
