Developed in the late 80s by Ericsson Nederland. It was introduced by PTT in 1990 as the model Monza. This particular one was printed with the Floriade logo. Florade was an international exhibition and garden festival that was held every 10 years here in the Netherlands.
This logo was for the 1992 Floriade. Floriade was held in 2022 as well, in Almere. As many times before, it was a financial disaster. That is why that was the very last time it was held.
Ericsson Nederland developed a telephone internally called Ramses. They developed several versions of it. This one, with one rounded corner, was called Monza by PTT. There was also a rectangular one, called Stockholm by PTT.
Ericsson themselves sold this model on the international market under the name Dialog (again!).
The Monza came in several different versions: the basic Monza, with only a recall button, the Monza 10, which could store 10 telephone numbers in its memory, and the Monza de Luxe with even more functions, an LCD display and more buttons.
I bought this specimen a while ago. I could not let it pass, with such a nice logo on it. The stickers on it are typical of the period. It is slighty yellowed, I’m afraid. Otherwise undamaged and works fine.[:]
