The Nederlandse Standard Electric Maatschappij (Dutch Standard Electric Company) too developed, as per request by PTT, a Norm 51 telephone: the type 1954. The Standard 1954 was produced in smaller numbers than the Heemaf type 1955 and the Ericsson type 1951.
Strangely the desk model and the wall model are not very similar and are styled very different. The desk model has some Art Deco features, where as the wall model is straight, smooth and without any decoration. Handset, dial and electrics are the same, but that is really all.
The desk model has the same housing and handset as the BTMC 2749. BTMC in Antwerp and NSEM have always had strong connections, where BTCM operated as a kind of mother company for NSEM. Both companies where part of ITT.
The BTMC 2749 in turn is based on the Western Electric 302.
The wall model seems to be an in house design. It is simple, without decoration and less attention has been payed to the estetics.
